Some disk file systems have a data cache it operations and that instructions are cached in the disk storage and not implemented immediately This could cause some latency but Finder/WindowsExplorer should reflect these changes when you next ope that app. The FileSystem also updates metadata about the file with attributable like “date Deleted” and “original path”. Trash folder is available, the FileSystem simply changed the path from where the file was located to /.Trash/ (this folder may be named differently in Windows, but Windows or MacOS the folder is still hidden from the user. The FileSystem deletes the file based upon its criteria. Lightroom Classic uses the API provided by the OS and issues a standard “DELETE File” command to the FileSystem It does this when the user instructs LR to Delete a file from Disk (using what ever means the user has at their disposal).
When I double click the Lightroom icon theres a pop up saying Lightroom Installer.app is a program. This is a filesystem process independent of Lightroom or any other app. After payment I received the download link and installed the Installer.dmg.
Lightroom does not put anything into the trash.
